This is a complete facial experience treating the whole body. Your individually tailored session will begin with a consultation to define what it is you would really like from the treatments.

Fine and delicate facial acupuncture needles are applied to tonifying and lifting points on the face. These points are left to settle for 30 to 40 minutes, during this time you are free to relax in a quiet and warm environment.

Once the facial needles have been removed the treatment is enhanced by an acupressure facial massage, which has a deeply relaxing effect and improves the tone, structure and texture of the skin and muscles. Aromatherapy aromatic essences can be applied to enhance the benefits.

This complete facial experience encourages the healing properties of the protein collagen, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles and will leave you feeling radiant. You will find that your energy levels increase, you sleep more soundly and your general sense of well being improves.

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the use of volatile plant oils for preventative care, healing and general physical well- being. These essential oils can be used in different ways, including massage, bathing and inhalation. When essential oils are inhaled, the receptors in the nose are stimulated and the impulse is transmitted to the emotional centre of the brain or “limbic system”.

£55 per treatment.

Further information...

The limbic system is connected to areas of the brain linked to memory, breathing and blood circulation, as well as the endocrine glands that regulate hormone levels in the body. The properties of the oil, the fragrance and its effects, determine stimulation of these systems. When used in massage, essential oils are not only inhaled, but absorbed through the skin as well. They penetrate the tissues and find their way into the bloodstream where they are transported to the organs and systems of the body. Different oils are thought to act on the body in different way, having a relaxing, energizing, calming or uplifting effect.

Popular because of its non-invasive nature, aromatherapy is used for a wide range of health problems such as anxiety, insomnia, and stress related conditions. Many people find it useful in treating arthritic and rheumatoid pain, headaches, and pre-menstrual tension. It is sometimes available in maternity services and is widely used in palliative and cancer care in hospitals and hospices. Some people also use aromatherapy just for its relaxation effects.

An Aromatherapist will need to be made aware of any health problems that the patient may have, particularly cardiac, respiratory, neurological or dermatological conditions.
